Megan Anna Rapinoe grew up in Redding, California. She was born there on July 5, 1985. She began to play soccer when she was an infant, and her skills improved during her teenage days. After just eight games, Rapinoe scored two goals, helping the MagicJack to finish third in the league. The team folded in the latter part of 2011. magicJack folded and in early 2012, the same happened to WPS. Rapinoe began participating with the Australian W-League with Sydney Football Club FC before moving back in the United States. Then, she played for the Seattle Washington Sounders Women - now Sound FC. The 2013 season of Rapinoe was doing soccer with France. She joined Seattle Reign FC, now OL Reign in the National Women's Soccer League NWSL that was created following the dissolution of WPS. Rapinoe was a key player who helped the U.S. women's soccer team take home a gold medal at those Olympics. She played in or assisted on several goals that led them to victory. The second Olympics took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in the year 2016. The year of Rio the U.S. team was eliminated in the quarterfinals. The first time Rapinoe played in the FIFA Women's World Cup was in 2011. The contributions of Rapinoe helped the U.S. Women's World Cup to take home two titles in the years 2019 and 2015. She was named cocaptain in 2018. Two goals by Rapinoe's were a the result of a 4-3-2 United States victory against Australia in the Olympics of 2020 in Tokyo. Japan, however, was delayed to 2021, until the COVID-19 epidemic was gone.
